Senior UI/UX Engineer (Figma & Next.js/TypeScript)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hybrid UI/UX Engineer who is equally passionate about crafting flawless user experiences in Figma and bringing them to life with clean, high-performance code. In this role, you won't just hand off static designs to an engineering team—you will own the entire lifecycle of a feature, from initial wireframes and interactive prototypes to the final frontend implementation.

You will be the ultimate bridge between design and engineering, ensuring our product remains visually stunning, incredibly intuitive, and technically optimized.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Product Design: Conduct user research, map user flows, wireframe layouts, and design pixel-perfect, high-fidelity UI components inside Figma.

• Design System Ownership: Maintain, scale, and optimize our Figma token/component library, ensuring it aligns perfectly with our technical design tokens in code.

• Frontend Implementation: Translate your own designs into production-ready, responsive components using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

• Interactive Prototyping: Build complex, interactive prototypes in Figma for user testing, and later implement those fluid transitions and micro-interactions using frontend animation libraries (e.g., Framer Motion).

• Performance & Accessibility: Ensure all engineered interfaces are highly performant, accessible (WCAG compliant), and structurally semantic.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product management and backend engineers to define project scopes, architectural strategies, and technical feasibility.

Technical & Creative Requirements

Design Skillset:

• Expert-level Figma: Deep mastery of Auto Layout, component properties, variables, advanced prototyping, and building scalable design systems.

• UX/UI Fundamentals: Strong command over typography, visual hierarchy, information architecture, color theory, and user-centric design principles.

Engineering Skillset:

• React & Next.js: Proven experience building server-side rendered (SSR) and statically generated (SSG) web applications.

• TypeScript: Ability to write clean, type-safe code that reduces bugs and improves scalability.

• Tailwind CSS: Expert knowledge of utility-first CSS, configuring custom Tailwind themes, and managing responsive layouts cleanly.

• Modern Web Standards: Excellent understanding of HTML5, modern CSS properties (Grid, Flexbox, Custom Properties), and Git version control.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience working in a hybrid design/engineering role (UI/UX Engineer, Design Engineer, or Product Designer who codes).

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing both your UI/UX design process (Figma case studies) and live web applications or code repositories (GitHub) demonstrating your frontend execution.

• Mindset: A strong "product thinker" who cares deeply about the micro-details of a user interaction just as much as code cleanliness and site performance.
